WS: This has a lot going on in the bottle with currants, sweet tobacco and berry aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins. A bit firm but it?s there. Much better than from barrel. Best after 2009. 13,330 cases made. –JS |

WA: Notes of damp earth, composty, leafy vegetation and sweet currants, plums, and cherries in addition to some licorice jump from the glass of this evolved, deep ruby-colored wine that shows medium body, excellent concentration, an elegant but pure style, and nice texture and length. Anticipated maturity: now-2016. |

Medium ruby. Subdued but pure aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, graphite and violet, with a light inky quality. High-pitched black fruit and floral flavors show enticing sweetness despite slightly elevated acids. Finishes with good length; the firm tannins avoid dryness. But dominated by its youthful spine today. 85-89 points |
