Noteringar:
2007-12-16 10:03 WS: Smooth and open-textured. A generous mouthful of blackberry and cherry flavors that hover beautifully in the airy atmosphere of the round finish. Drink now through 2011. 2,000 cases made. –HS
2007-12-16 10:03 WA: The 2005 Wallace is 80% Shiraz from 65-year-old vines and 20% Grenache from 90-year-old bush vines. It spent 14 months in seasoned French and American oak. It exhibits a lovely perfume of cedar, tobacco, damp earth, black cherry and blueberry. This leads to a concentrated, structured wine with ripe blue and black fruit flavors, well-concealed tannin, and a long finish. This excellent value can be enjoyed over the next 8-10 years. Hats off to Ben Glaetzer for producing an extraordinary portfolio! The renowned winemaker, Ben Glaetzer, sources all of his fruit for this label from the Ebenezer district in the northern Barossa. Many knowledgeable experts cite this sub-region as the finest in the Valley. Importer: Ben Hammerschlag, Epicurean Wines, Seattle, WA; www.glaetzer.com
2007-12-16 10:03 IWC: By Josh Raynolds Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jul/Aug 07 ($22; 70% shiraz and 30% grenache) Inky violet. Intensely perfumed nose melds dark berry and plum compote aromas with exotic incense and baking spices. Fresh, focused and pure, with vibrant red and dark berry flavors, a silky texture and slowly mounting cinnamon and clove notes. Finishes vibrant, spicy and long. 90 points
