WA: The 2001 Carravalseca Reserva spent 20 months in a mix of new and one-year-old French oak and is the product of a single vineyard. Purple-colored, it has an expressive nose of vanilla, pain grille, earth, black currant jam, and blueberry. On the palate the wine is fleshy, ripe, and already complex. It manages to be both elegant and powerful with enough structure to unfold for several more years. It should drink for 10+ years thereafter. Importer: Steve Miles Selections, Denver, CO; tel.
