| 2007-10-27 15:38 | WS: Muscular and a touch tight for now, with cocoa and dark toast holding sway over supple-textured plum and cassis flavors. The long, fruit-filled finish has a nice mocha hint. Let this blossom with modest cellaring. Drink now through 2010. 3,816 cases made. –JM |
| 2007-10-27 15:39 | IWC: By Stephen Tanzer Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Mar/Apr 07 ($36) Dark red. Medicinal dark fruits, licorice and vanillin oak on the nose. Sweet, supple and a bit commercial in style, with flavors of black fruits, spices and mint. Finishes with attractive sweetness, a note of chocolate and dusty tannins. Easy-to-drink shiraz with modest complexity. "A nice wine with a burger," notes Webb. (My sample of the 2003 was distinctly sauvage and leathery and had a bit less verve, rating 86 points.) 87 points |
