IWC: By Stephen Tanzer
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Issue #129, November/December 2006)
(Domaine Weinbach Riesling Schlossberg Trie Speciale Vendanges Tardives) ($120; 11% alcohol, 87 g/l r.s. and 7.8 grams acidity) Pale color. High-toned, captivating aromas of honey, wild strawberry and apricot tart. High-toned and wonderfully vibrant in the mouth, with powerful acids enlivening the flavors of candied apricot, pineapple and citrus peel. Not at all a silky or opulent style. But this extremely young VT offers terrific life and verve. 93 points |
