WS: Very fruity, showing tropical fruit such as mango on the nose, with lots of spice. Full-bodied and really sweet, with a honeylike, almost syrupy density. Spicy and intense on the finish. Best after 2015. –JS |

WA: Denis Dubourdieu conjured one of the best 2007 Barsac wines with the 2007 Doisy-Daene, even though it showed a little subdued on the nose and demanded a great deal of coaxing. Touches of lemon curd, mango, white flowers and crushed stone. The palate is very tense on the entry, excellent acidity here and beautifully balanced. There is a sense of “urgency” to this Doisy-Daene: coiled up energy that explodes on the finish with lemongrass, apricot, clear honey and white peach. Superb length and chutzpah. This is a wonderful wine. Drink 2012-2030+ |

IWC: ($38-$55) Bright medium gold. Knockout nose melds apricot, pineapple, curry powder and exotic smoky oak. Very dense and thick, with a honeyed sweetness, but kept in check today by strong acidity. This very powerful wine is youthfully imploded at present, even a bit aggressive, and will need several years to express itself. Late finishing notes of flowers and minerals contribute to the wine's vibrant character. 92(+?) points |
