($65) Red-ruby color. Roasted aromas of cassis, licorice, gunflint, smoke and pepper. Purer and more refined than the Cote-Rotie, with a suppler texture and more early personality. Faintly herbaceous in the middle palate. Finishes with rather suave tannins and good length. This includes the declassified Bessards juice, while the Cote-Rotie includes some La Landonne. 89 points |
