WS: Aromas of vanilla, blackberry and milk chocolate follow through to a medium-to-full body, with a lovely core of ripe fruit and a medium finish of vanilla bean, berry and chocolate tart. Best after 2011. 2,330 cases made. –JS |

WA: From a vineyard planted on pure limestone, the 2005 La Serre reveals a deep plum/ruby color, terrific fruit, and a sweet nose of licorice, herbs, black cherries, and cassis. Medium to full-bodied with more flesh, structure, and intensity compared to previous vintages, it will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age, and should last for 15+. |

IWC: By Stephen Tanzer
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, May/June 2006, Issue #126
(Chateau La Serre Saint Emilion) Good bright ruby-red. Fruit-driven aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, violet and sweet oak. At once dense and fresh, with lovely delineation of berry and spice flavors. Youthfully medicinal in a positive way. Suave, focused wine, with good energy from its chalky, rocky soil. The tannins are firm but not hard. (87-89) points |
