WS: A solid beam of red cherry and plum fruit, with green and black olive notes and a chalky, minerally hint to the finish. Drink now through 2013. 1,665 cases made. –JM |

WA: The darker ruby/purple-colored 2004 Cornas Champelrose has more smoke, scorched earth, espresso roast, and blueberry notes than the Les Eygats with sweet fruit, medium to full body, and attractive texture and richness. It should drink well for 7-8 years. Needless to say, all of these wines are for patient connoisseurs. Importer: Russell Herman, Berkeley Heights, NJ; tel. (908) 771-9082 |

($45) Ruby-red. Pungent, high-pitched raspberry and strawberry liqueur aromas, with an elegant floral touch. Very sweet, with expansive red and dark berry flavors, soft tannins and a supple, long finish. This is all about delicious ripe fruit and is drinking extremely well now. 90 points
