(Hugel et Fils Riesling Vendange Tardive) ($64; 11.7% alcohol with 63 g/l r.s.) High-toned, expressive aromas of lemon, pineapple candy, peach and powdered stone. A sweet, sappy fruit bomb in the mouth, with captivating flavors of spicy vineyard peach and pineapple. Highly concentrated but not viscous. Finishes long and juicy. This is delicious already owing to its balance. For the past 15 years, the Hugels have used the same parcel in the middle of the Schoenenbourg for their late-harvest riesling. 91 points |
