IWC: By Stephen Tanzer
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Sep/Oct 05
($53) Bright red-ruby. Exhilarating aromas of red fruits, lead pencil, tobacco, rose petal, licorice and tarry oak. Dense, rich and suave, with classic cabernet flavors of currant, bitter cherry, minerals, pepper and tobacco, complemented by mellow oak tones. Wonderfully ripe, broad and rich in extract, yet it conveys virtually no impression of thickness or weight thanks to perfectly integrated acidity. Builds impressively on the back half, finishing with very fine tannins and terrific verve and length. Extremely young and built for long life. . 93(+?) points |

WS: Plush in texture, elegant in structure, this red offers smoky berry, lead pencil and tobacco flavors, balanced and clean, with spices and berries on the finish. Not a blockbuster, but graceful. Drink now through 2010. 6,523 cases made. –TM |
