Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Issue #128, September/October 2006)
(Bodegas Estefania Tilenus Mancia Bierzo) ($25) Dark red. Suave nose features raspberry, strawberry, fresh flowers, minerals and smoke. This could easily be confused for pinot noir, especially on the palate, which is loaded with sweet, lush red fruits and displays a silky, gently chewy texture. Spice, mineral and floral notes appear on the persistent finish, adding depth and brightness. (European Cellars, Charlotte, NC) 90 points |
