By Stephen Tanzer
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Issue #134, September/October 2007)
(Domaine/Maison Louis Jadot Corton Charlemagne) ($134) Brooding aromas of flinty minerality, smoke and nut oil. Dense and deep, with uncommon sweetness and silky texture for young Corton-Charlemagne. There's nothing hard about the sappy apple, spice and nut oil flavors and yet this stylish wine is still quite young and backward. Finishes long and vibrant, with a subtle suggestion of hawthorn blossom. 93(+?) points |

WS: Ripe, broad and powerful, this creamy-textured white packs lime blossom, pear, sweet corn and butterscotch into an ample frame. A mineral note emerges as this glides to the long finish. Very vibrant and alive, but needs a few more years to really hit its stride. Best from 2009 through 2025. 825 cases made. –BS |
