Noteringar:
2008-01-26 00:49 IWC: By Josh Raynolds Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Issue #134, September/October 2007) (Grosset Gaia Clare Valley) ($51; a Bordeaux blend based on 70% cabernet sauvignon) Dark red. Explosively perfumed nose features an exotic array of black and blue fruits, baking spices, sassafras and mocha. Soft and broad, with gentle, sweet blackberry and blueberry flavors brightened by cinnamon and deepened by bitter chocolate. Finishes with excellent clarity and a lingering flavor of sweet dark berries. The most seductive vintage of this bottling I've yet encountered. 2008-01-26 00:49 WA: The 2004 Gaia comes from a tiny 4.5 acre vineyard with the highest elevation in the Clare Valley. It is composed of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Merlot. It offers a fragrant perfume of pain grille, spice box, clove, black currant, and blackberry. Medium-bodied, elegant, and supple-textured, this Saint-Julien look-alike has good underlying structure and balance and should evolve for 6-8 years. Drink it through 2030.
