IWC: By Stephen Tanzer
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Issue #134, September/October 2007)
(Craggy Range Vineyards Pinot Noir Te Muna Vineyard Martinborough) ($52) Good full red. Slightly high-toned, liqueur-like aromas of cherry and raspberry lifted by flowers and brown spices. Silky and suave in texture, with dry but rich flavors of dark fruits, brown spices and earth. Lush and broad but with very good rather than outstanding concentration and focus. A classic Martinborough style of pinot noir, finishing with notes of red berries and smoky underbrush. 89 points |
