IWC: By Stephen Tanzer
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Issue #102, May/June 2002)
(Ravenswood Winery Zinfandel Monte Rosso Vineyard) (14.7% alcohol) Bright medium ruby. Vibrant aromas of currant, blackberry, black cherry, clove, minerals and shoe polish; essence of zin with some claret-like tones. Dense, rich and deep, with berry and dried fruit flavors complicated by black pepper. Impressively concentrated and delineated zinfandel with a very long, ripely tannic finish. This seems richer and deeper than the '99 version. (92-94) points |
