Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Issue #135, November/December 2007)
(Fred Loimer Gruner Veltliner Kaferberg) ($38) Medium green-yellow. Aromas and flavors of yellow apple and spring meadow herbs, with a distinctly leesy quality apparent today. Powerful but by no means excessively broad or obviously alcoholic in the mouth. An apricot flavor is laced with minerals and morphs into pleasant pineapple and mango on the finish. This well-balanced wine possesses plenty of potential for aging. Drink from 2009 to 2018. 92 points |
