WA: Campo di Sasso is the new project being headed by Lodovico and Piero Antinori, with the consulting services of Michel Rolland. The 2005 Insoglio del Cinghiale, a blend of 30% Syrah, 25% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot saw 20 days of fermentation in stainless steel followed by 6 months of barrique aging. It offers attractive aromatics along with gorgeous layers of ripe dark fruit, tar, spices and earthiness. Best enjoyed over the next few years, it is a promising debut from this new property. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2010. Importer: Vintus LLC, Pleasantville, NY; tel. (914) 769-3000 |
