WA: A sleeper of the vintage, this noteworthy effort offers a deep ruby/purple color along with a sweet, expressive bouquet of spring flowers, blackberries, and cassis. Abundant fruit, supple tannin, medium body, and a silky mouthfeel result in an irresistible claret. Enjoy it over the next 10-14 years. |

Moderately saturated ruby-red. Cool aromas of cassis, licorice and shoe polish. Supple but a bit simple, with modest dimension and concentration. The dusty tannins are reasonably ripe and unforced, but the wine needs more concentration and thrust. 85-87 points |

WS: Intense aromas of blackberry and hints of licorice. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a medium finish. Slightly hollow, yet focused on the palate. Very enjoyable already. Best after 2009. 12,000 cases made. –JS
