Noteringar:
2008-08-26 19:54 WS: Impressive for its purity of flavors and generosity. This gorgeous red fills the mouth with rich black cherry, blackberry and hints of cedar and sweet spices, waxing and persisting on an expressive finish that goes on and on. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2009 through 2017. 805 cases made. –HS
2008-08-26 19:55 WA: The 2005 Sorella, from the tenderloin portion of the Champoux Vineyard, is a more brooding, dense, and masculine version with layers of rich fruit, a mouth-coating palate feel, and exceptional length. It, too, should develop nicely in the cellar and provide peak drinking from 2015 to 2035. Andrew Will, located on pastoral Vashon Island, was founded in 1989 by former sommelier Chris Camarda. His focus is on blended, Bordeaux-style wines from some of Washington’s finest vineyards. The wines are made identically, the differences among them reflective of that vineyard’s terroir. He also produces a Syrah named in honor of his late wife. Chris Camarda’s efforts with Syrah deserve serious attention. The Annie Camarda Syrah is a blend of fruit from the Champoux and Ciel du Cheval Vineyards, two of eastern Washington’s finest. Tel. (206) 463-9227; www.andrewwill.com
