Noteringar:
2009-01-27 12:58 IWC: By Josh Raynolds Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, January/February 2008, Issue #136 (Domaine Jean Luc et Jean Paul Jamet Cote Rotie) (this was scheduled to be bottled the third week in November, or two weeks after my visit; I tasted the wine in its two main components as well as the approximate blend described here) Ruby-red. Musky raspberry, cherry and spiced plum aromas are complicated by fresh flowers, incense and cured meat. Minerality emerges with air, carrying onto the palate and supporting the sweet raspberry and blueberry flavors. Becomes even fresher on the back end, finishing with outstanding sappy persistence. This boasts wonderful clarity and fine-grained tannins. (93-94) points
2009-01-27 12:59 WS: Intense, with warm roasted fig, currant confiture and melted licorice notes that almost gush forth, but the briar patch, sweet tobacco, mineral and incense notes lend both definition and refinement. The long, long finish shows terrific intensity and a lingering note of sweet macerated black olive. Best from 2010 through 2020. 2,000 cases made. –JM
2009-01-27 13:00 WA: The 2005 Cote Rotie offers a dense ruby/purple color and notes of a resiny pine forest with some meat juices, scorched earth, black cherries, currants, and underbrush. The wine is not a blockbuster, but it is fresh, medium-bodied, with zesty acidity, and a spicy, moderately long finish. This wine will probably benefit from several years of bottle age and drink well for 8-9 years. It is by no means in the league with their top vintages, such as 1999, 1991, 1988, and 1985.
