Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Issue #135, November/December 2007)
(Brewer Clifton Chardonnay Sea Smoke Vineyard Santa Rita Hills) ($48) Green-gold. Smoky mango and yellow plum aromas are deepened by a spun sugar quality. Lush, leesy tropical fruit flavors offer good depth and chewy texture, with a light warm character building on the finish. This checks in at 16.4% alcohol but isn't outrageously ripe or loose-knit. And the finish refuses to let up. 90 points |
