2007-05-20 22:08 | WS: On the lean side, with sharply focused blackberry, red plum and red cherry flavors that play against hints of black pepper and tamarind as the finish goes on and on. Give this one time. Best from 2008 through 2014. 5,000 cases made. –HS |
2007-05-20 22:09 | WA: A spectacular value from highly renowned winemaker Ben Glaetzer, the 2004 Shiraz/Grenache Wallace (70% Shiraz from 65-year-old vines and 30% Grenache from 90-year-old bush vines) was aged 12 months in neutral 300 liter barrels, primarily American. An expressive nose of ground pepper, sweet cherries, raspberries, currants, and loamy soil scents is followed by a wine of great intensity, power, elegance, and definition. This beautifully made, full-bodied, sexy, complex Australian red should drink well for 5-7 years. |
