Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Issue #121, July/August 2005)
(Plantagenet Wines Riesling Great Southern) ($15) Medium straw. Bright, assertive citrus and fresh-cut grass aromas are initially suggestive of sauvignon blanc but quickly turn riper and more exotic, showing apricot, peach nectar and pineapple notes. A weighty, round style of riesling that manages to retain vibrant lemon and lime flavors with an herbal suggestion of thyme. Finishes soft and gentle, repeating the pineapple note. 87 points |
