Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Issue #135, November/December 2007)
(Brundlmayer Riesling Lyra Heiligenstein) ($68) Pale green-yellow. Complex aromas and flavors reminiscent of pineapple and apricot, with smoky minerals, fragrant blossom honey and a hint of orange zest amplifying the vineyard character of this wine. Brisk acids give sharp definition to this intense wine. Sweet traces of banana and peach linger impressively on the finish of this dry riesling. Should be at its best between 2009 and 2018. 93 points |
