WS: A seamless wine that has real presence and delivers plenty of personality. Lithe and refined, with lovely peach, orange and spice aromas and flavors. Harmonious, many-layered and very, very long. Drink now through 2014. 3,000 cases made. –HS |

WA: The 2004 Chardonnay M3 Vineyard reveals more nectarine, orange skin, and citrus oil-like characteristics than the 2005, as well as medium body, and a crisp, steely, more mineral than fruit-based style. It should be drunk over the next year. Importer: Vintus LLC, Pleasantville, NY; tel. (914) 769-3000 |

($29) Light yellow. Smoky aromas of baked apple and ripe pear, with tropical fruit hints emerging with air. Rich and broad, but the orange and buttered apple flavors are given shape and focus by firming acids. I suspect that this will hold up nicely for a few more years but it's very attractive now, offering a pleasing interplay of tangy and riper fruit tones. 89 points |
