Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Issue #134, September/October 2007)
(Costers del Siurana Miserere Priorato) ($77) Dark red. Intense floral- and baking spice-accented cherry on the nose, with an exotic lavender quality making a strong impression. Deep and sweet, offering an intense array of red berry and spice impressions, plus suave cinnamon and clove. Well-focused, pure red fruits define the long, silky finish. Easily the best bottling of this wine I've ever had. 91 points |

WA: The 2004 is the best of this trio as 2004 was a marvelous vintage in Priorat. Even more expressive aromatically, on the palate it offers surprising elegance, ripeness, and depth. Nearly seamless, it should deliver superb drinking with another 3-5 years of cellaring. Importer: Jorge Ordonez, Fine Estates from Spain, Dedham, MA; tel. (781) 461-5767 |
