Noteringar:
2007-11-28 10:15 IWC: By Josh Raynolds Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Issue #128, September/October 2006) (Dominio de Atauta Llanos del Almendro Ribera del Duero) ($140) Deep ruby. Intensely perfumed and fresh on the nose, with sexy notes of red berries, rhubarb, baking spices and white pepper. Lush, mouthfilling and suave, with impressive depth and clarity to the powerful raspberry and redcurrant flavors. Finishes impressively long, with a bright, incisive mineral quality. Impeccably balanced wine. (The Rare Wine Company, Sonoma, CA) 93 points
2007-11-28 10:15 WA: The 2004 Llanos del Almendro is from what the estate believes is their finest parcel. From 60+-year-old (mostly grafted) vines, the Tempranillo fruit is aged for 21 months in French barriques of which 66% are new. Opaque purple in color, with a more open and expressive nose of minerals, smoked meat, and blue and black fruits, this full-bodied wine is mouth-filling and rich. In a blind tasting it could easily pass for a great Pauillac in its combination of power and elegance. Kudos to Dominio Atauta! Importer: Rare Wine Co., Sonoma, Ca; tel. (707) 996-4484
