($40) Light gold. An exotic array of tropical fruits, melon, peach and smoky minerals on the nose, along with a subtle hint of anise. Full and round, with deep, musky melon and yellow plum flavors and a gentle note of wet stones. Firm acidity is buried beneath a thick layer of dense, sweet fruit. This tastes almost like a late-harvest wine and should be served alongside rich, full-flavored foods. Very impressive as well as highly distinctive Sancerre. 92 points |
