IWC: By Josh Raynolds
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Issue #133, July/August 2007)
(Clos Mogador Nelin Blanco Priorat) ($30) Yellow-gold. Smoky pear, apricot and floral honey on the nose; peppery herb and mineral notes come up with air, giving the nose a bright quality. Full and fleshy but dry, with precise orchard and citrus flavors and a pleasing bitterness on the close. Very interesting wine, somewhat reminiscent of a northern Rhone white and better with food such as pungent cheeses. (Europvin USA, Oakland, CA) 89 points |
