| 2007-05-20 22:32 | WS: A wine with lots of berry, meat and earth character on the nose and palate. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, rich aftertaste. Velvety Barolo. Best after 2008. 500 cases made. –JS |
| 2007-05-20 22:33 | WA: Massolino’s 2001 Barolo Parafada, a rich ruby, offers a deep nose redolent of toasted oak, vanilla, menthol, licorice and tar. It is quite structured, with flavors of cherries in liqueur and spices with good follow through on the palate. This wine does malolactic fermentation in barrique, although the 2001 is less overtly oaky than previous vintages. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2016. |
