(Friedrich Becker Pinot Noir Tafelwein) ($230) Deep brilliant ruby. Seductive aromas of smoked plum, spice cake and licorice. Finely balanced in spite of its enormous concentration, with layers of deep wild berry and spice flavors. Finishes with exquisite tannins and outstanding persistence, with captivating notes of Canadian bacon and clove. One of my two German red wines of the vintage. 96 points |
