2007-10-09 01:04 | WA: A charming, silky-styled offering, the 2004 Haut-Batailley, while somewhat superficial, is ideal for drinking over the next 10-12 years. Its dark ruby color is accompanied by sweet aromas of cranberry jam, cherries, and black currants. Ripe tannin, low acidity, and a light, silky finish result in a charming, seductive Pauillac. |
2007-10-09 01:04 | IWC: By Stephen Tanzer Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, May/Jun 05 Bright ruby-red. Red berry syrup aromas complicated by fresh herbs and pungent pine and eucalyptus. Dense, fat and sweet but with a distinctly raw piney nuance running through the wine. Very dominated by its cabernet. Finishes with substantial tongue-dusting tannins that turn a bit dry with aeration. An awkward showing. 85-87? points |
2007-10-12 22:23 | WS: A balanced red, with licorice and chocolate character. Medium-bodied, with a silky finish. A fine wine for early drinking. Best after 2007. 15,000 cases made. –JS |
